    Portugal New Immigration Law 2020

    Portugal has finally announced its new immigration law which will allow foreigners to urge temporary residence permit with none extra restrictions of legal entry into the country. Parliament of Portuguese already approved the new law in February 2019. President of Portugal ‘Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa’, has signed Portugal new immigration law on March 23, 2019, and implemented it for entry, exit, and removal of foreigners from Portugal.
    The diploma results from projects delivered in 2018 by PCP, BE, and therefore the People-Animal-Nature (PAN) party, with amendments proposed by the PS consistent with publico.pt.

    Key Facts of New Law
    This new Portugal Immigration law will allow the foreigners to possess their registration done with ‘SEF’ (Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras) without showing any legal entry into Portugal.

    Previously, consistent with Article 88- Paragraph 2, it had been mandatory to point out to the govt that there has been legal entry within the national territory. Otherwise, the case was dealt with consistently with article 123.
    Anyone who enters Portugal, after entering Portugal, able to apply for a residence permit having a job in hand.
    Foreigners with illegal entry into Portugal will need to show that they need to contribute to the Social Security system for 12 months. (have paid tax for a year).
    This new law ends the previous law of 2007 that gave the proper to foreigners to urge residence permits if they need legal entry into Portugal.

    Documents Required for Applying Residence Permit consistent with Article 88- Paragraph 2
    The Person can preferably apply online (expression of interest) via (SAPA Portal). The personally submitted application can also be submitted by the applicant or through the personal representative (lawyer) at any SEF’s directorate or regional delegation. The applicant must include the following documents along with the application:
    Passport or another valid travel document
    Proof of normal entry in Portugal (a valid visa possession, when applicable, or entry into Portugal within the visa waiver period) (no issue if you can’t provide that)
    Proof of any means of subsistence, as provided for in Administrative Rule no. 1563/2007, of 11/12;
    Certificate of record of the country of origin
    Certificate of record of the country where you’ve got lived for quite one year
    Accommodation documents
    Proof of registration and regularized situation before Social Security, except just in case of a promise of the employment agreement
    Proof of ‘Finance Number’
    An employment contract or document issued under the terms of art. a) of paragraph 2 of article 88 of Law 23/2007 of Independence Day
